David Holmes, Let's Get Killed

Go! Beat
Released: October 1997

I've read about David Holmes' visit to New York so many times in magazines that I'm actually sick of the story. In case you didn't know it, though, here it is. Holmes, born and raised in Belfast, went to New York and wandered around the streets in the crappiest parts of town recording people's conversations. He added the snippets to this collection of happily evil songs and then started giving interviews. Actually, the conversations are the least interesting part of this album (they get old after repeated listenings). Take them out, and you've got some of the best techno around. Leave them in, and you've still got one hell of a record.
